Elegance Monogram — The e Mark

The brief for our own mark was the same one we set every client: it has to work in one colour, at one centimetre, with no gradient helping it.

The solution is subtractive. Start with a solid navy disc, then cut two opposing leaf shapes — one sweeping in from the upper left, one from the lower right. What remains reads as a lowercase e, but also as motion, as a wave, as an eye. None of that was forced; it emerged from keeping the cuts asymmetric.

It survives a favicon, an embroidered cap and a three-metre banner. That was the whole test.

The problem

Build a mark that reads as a letter, an object and a movement at the same time, in a single flat colour.

What we did

Subtractive construction — cut the counters out of a solid disc with two opposing organic shapes instead of drawing a letterform.
